The Genoa-born Giovanni Battista Langetti (c.1635-1676) was a popular Italian Baroque painter in his time. He lived and worked in Rome, Venice and Florence. He was a pupil of Pietro da Cortona and later he learned from G. F. Cassana in Florence, were he stayed for a longer time. The artist belongs to the most important artists of the naturalistic tendency of the Baroque of the 17th century.
