In 1696, he settled in Florence in the service of the Grand Duke Cosimo III de 'Medici, for whom he created large canvases with landscapes inspired by the hunting in the Roman countryside. He drew inspiration from the landscape created by Dughet and his artwork shows influences from Nicola Poussin and Alessandro Magnasco
