    The Swiss painter and graphic artist Karl Felix Appenzeller (1892-1964) was trained by W. Hummel in Zurich and studied under A. Jank at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich as well as under O. Vautier in Geneva where he lived from 1911 to 1924. Afterwards he moved to Paris, working in his own studio and regularly exhibiting at the Salon d'Automne. In 1954, he returned to St. Gallen.

    Besides numerous landscapes, he painted still lifes, portraits, nudes and figurative compositions in oil and watercolors.
