    Dirk Filarski was born in 1885 and died in 1964. Dirk was a Dutch painter who was considered one of the pioneers of the Bergen School. It was founded around the painter Henri Le Fauconnier in 1915 and was influenced by Impressionism.

    Piet Boendermaker, an important patron of the school, supported Filarski financially and enabled him to travel Europe. In the 1920s, Filarski traveled through France for a longer stay, where he created the view of the town of Prats-de-Mollo-la-Preste in the Pyrénées-Orientales....
