    Domingo Muñoz was a Spanish painter. He studied at the School of San Fernando and worked as a caricaturist and cartoonist for various publications. Muñoz won a prize in the competition of "La Ilustración Española y Americana" in 1876 and participated in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts the following year. He resided in Rome from 1880, where his work was influenced by Vicente Palmaroli. Muñoz's paintings framed in the War of Independence gained fame, and he sent canvases to Spain from Italy, where he obtained notable success. He moved to Paris in 1884, where he won a prize at the Salon of the same year and opened his own studio.
