    Georg Phillip Rugendas I was a renowned artist who flourished in the 18th century. He studied in Augsburg, Vienna, and Venice, with Jaques Courtois influencing his development in Rome. Rugendas was known for his spectacular battle scenes and well-known etchings, including series depicting horsemen and peasants, as well as portraits of Charles XII and Jeno Savoyai.
