    Giacomo Porzano (Italian, 1925-2006) was born November 21, 1925 in Lerici. He studied in Genoa, where he lived for twenty years. He attended the Academy of Carrara first and then the Faculty of Architecture in Florence.

    Since 1959 he lived and worked mainly in Rome. He died in Pescosolido on May 19, 2006. He took part in the Rome Quadrennial in 1965 and at the Venice Biennale in 1968.

    Among his favorite themes, in addition to the Ligurian landscapes, are portraits of friends, scenes of everyday life, ordinary characters, all scrutinized with keen inquiring eye.
