    Gian Domenico Ferretti was born in 1692 and passed away in 1766. Ferretti was an Italian painter who was active in Florence and Tuscany during the 18th century. Gian was a pupil of Giuseppe Maria Crespi and was influenced by the works of the great painters of the local 17th century.

    Ferretti collaborated with Felice Torelli before returning to his homeland to work with Tommaso Redi and Sebastiano Galeotti. He later worked in Bologna and was influenced by the arrival of Sebastiano Ricci, who brought the freshness of the Venetian Rococo to Florence. Ferretti's style was characterized by light-colored painting and elegance, often applied to mythological subjects
