    Gonzalo Sebastian De Erice is a painter, engraver and draftsman. Self-taught, he traveled through Europe and America, residing in France, Argentina and Italy.

    De Erice held his first solo show in Madrid, at the Seiquer gallery, in 1968, exhibiting again in the Spanish capital, in 1976 (National Library), 1986 (Faunas), as well as in La Pinacoteca and in the Esti-Arte and Skira rooms. In 1976 Erice represented Spain at the Alexandria Biennial, as well as at the exhibition held in 1980 in Cagnes sur Mer.

    He carries out an intelligent and playful work, full of discoveries and intuitions, which he develops with total intellectual and creative freedom. José Hierro defined De Erice as "a hermit heir to Paúl Klee.
