    Henriette Fauteux-Masse AANFM, SAPQ (1924 – 2005)

    A prominent Canadian painter, Henriette Fauteux-Masse (nee Fauteux) was born in Coaticook, Quebec; lived most of her life in Montreal; and, died in Sainte-Adèle, Quebec. Her works are in several important museum collections including the National Gallery of Canada. (1)

    Her mediums were oils, acrylics, gouache* and pastels. Her subjects included portraits, nudes and landscapes; however, she is probably best known for the abstractions she created during a 15 year period from the mid 1950s to 1970, the subjects of them being: color, shape, line and texture.
