Johann Wilhelm Lindlar was a German landscape painter. Lindlar initially worked as a teacher in various schools in the Rhineland, and in 1845, he took up painting. From 1846 to 1848, he was a student of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf. From 1849 to 1851, he worked in the master's studio at the academy.
