    Marinus Johannes (de Jongere) Drulman (1912-1978)

    Marinus Johannes Drulman (de Jongere) was born in the Netherlands in 1912. He lived in Amsterdam most of his life. An impressionist painter, de Jongere is well known for his dramatic images of the Harbor at Rotterdam during its shipping glory days in the early 50's and 60's. He was highly skilled at depicting all of the harbors' intricacies and activity.

    Drulman painted under the pseudonym "de Jongere". He signed his works "M. de Jongere". During the German occupation of the Netherlands he signed his works under his actual name, "Drulman". In his early years he traveled and studied in Belgium, France, Switzerland, and Germa...
