    Riccardo Francalancia was born in 1886, in Assisi, Italy. Working as a bank employee in Rome, from 1913, Riccardo had contact with the avant-garde circles. He was self-taught as a painter and draftsman. In 1921, Riccardo Francalancia participated in the 'Das Junge Italian' exhibition. This exhibition was shown in Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden and Hanover. Carlo Carra, Georgio Morandi and Gioegio de Chirico also exhibited in this show. Riccardo's work shows a poetic realism with influences by Henri Rousseau. Riccardo Francalancia died in 1965.
