    Venny Soldan-Brofeldt, a Finnish artist, created the large oil painting "The Fyke" in the summer of 1894 on Lill-Svartö in Porkkala, where she stayed with her husband, writer Juhani Aho. The painting was a tribute to the sea and the fishermen who relied on it for their livelihood. Venny had a deep connection to fishing since childhood, spending summers in the Gulf of Finland archipelago. She and her husband visited Porkkala in 1892 and returned to the fisherman's cottage on Lill-Svartö multiple times.
