After the war, Gillot was drawn to circus and music hall scenes, which led him to adopt more vivid tones. He was appointed "Official Painter of the Navy" in 1921 and founded the National Society of Fine Arts of the Sea and the Salon de la Marine with Fouqueray. His works can be found in the Carnavalet...
