After the death of her mother in 1919, she spent a period in Paris and, in 1924, she arrived in Rome. In 1925 she attended courses at the Academy of Fine Arts and began to paint. She joins Mario Mafai, with whom she will have three daughters: Miriam (1926), Simona (1928) and Giulia (1930).
