She had an apprenticeship as a fashion illustrator at the technical school for textiles and clothing industry. She attended the Marxist working school, and joined the KPD in 1932. She had an apprenticeship as a fashion illustrator at the technical school for textiles and clothing industry. She attended the Marxist working school, and joined the KPD in 1932. Annemarie emigrated to Prague. In 1933 she was active as a draftsman for textiles and as a press illustrator. From 1937 she was a member of the Oskar Kokoschka Bund. Here she was acquainted with her future husband Theo Balden. Then she fled via Poland and Sweden to England. In 1939 she married Theo Balden. In 1947 Annemarie returned to Berlin, and in 1956 married painter Willy Wolff.... Read full biography
