As an illustrator, too, he shortly attained a much higher plane. Residing first at Gothenburg and then at Stockholm, he devoted himself to mural decoration, his most important work in this line being his six frescoes in the National Museum and his great ceiling-piece in the foyer of the Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm.
