There he was influenced by the Ashcan painters and their depiction of urban life. In 1934, Prestopino summered at the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, N.H. and became a director in 1954, which influenced his art. In 1934, Prestopino summered at the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, N.H. and became a director in 1954, which influenced his art.
