He began working for several government agencies while pursuing his personal interest in art and poetry. Sepehri traveled on numerous occasions to Europe, Japan and Africa. In 1960 he traveled to Paris via land route to learn lithography. In 1960, he received the first prize at the Teheran Biennale and by 1962 he had resigned from his government position to pursue his art and poetry full time.
