Tippetts began painting after enrolling in a college-accredited correspondence course with the Famous Artist's School of Fine Arts Painting in Westport, Connecticut. She has also studied with Richard Schmid and Del Gish and travels extensively including to Portugal, Alaska, China, Canada, and Italy.
