About Rea Irvin

  • Biography

    Born in San Francisco, CA on Aug. 26, 1881. Irvin studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute and early in his career worked for the San Francisco Evening Post. After 1925 he was on the staff of the New Yorker as an illustrator and art editor for over 30 years. He spent his last years in Frederiksted, Virgin Islands. Irvin died on May 28, 1972.
