Traced back to Antonio Marini's catalog by Dario Succi, the paintings are characterized as mature products of the artist. A painter dedicated to landscapes and sea fortunes, following the examples of Tempesta and Salvator Rosa, he characterized his works with dramatic tones and stained chiaroscuro mixtures. However, Marini's critical events are recent and in analogy with the studies on Marco Ricci (Belluno, 1676; Venice, 1730) and Alessandro Magnasco (Genoa, 1667; 1749).
