His family moved to Hull in 1949 and between 1959-1964 he studied painting and etching at Hull Regional College of Art. He moved to London in 1964 and in 1995 to moved to New York. Remfry had his first solo show in London in 1973 and has since had more than 50 international solo exhibitions. His first show in the United States was at the Ankrum Gallery, L.A. in 1980. Remfry had his first solo show in London in 1973 and has since had more than 50 international solo exhibitions. His first show in the United States was at the Ankrum Gallery, L.A. in 1980. He has exhibited regularly since then at galleries in New York, Los Angeles and Florida and exhibited many times at galleries in Holland and Germany.
