Born in Munich, Schwimbeck studied painting at the Technical University in Munich in the studio of Friedrich Bodenmüller, as well as sculpture under the guidance of M. Kaeer. He was a self-taught etcher, and studied history of art for many years. Study trips have taken him, among others, to southern Europe and Africa. Paintings and graphic works by Schwimbeck are in the possession of the Bavarian State and the city of Munich, among others. (cko)
