He moved to Moscow in 1877 where he studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture until 1883 and then again from 1886 to 1888. In between, from 1884 to 1886, he trained at the Petersburg Academy of Art. In the years 1886 and 1912 he visited other European countries, including France, Germany and Italy. He moved to Moscow in 1877 where he studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture until 1883 and then again from 1886 to 1888. In between, from 1884 to 1886, he trained at the Petersburg Academy of Art. In the years 1886 and 1912 he visited other European countries, including France, Germany and Italy. Beginning in 1894 Archipow headed the landscape painting class at the Academy in Moscow and received in 1898 the title of academician. He continued teaching until 1924. His works are exhibited at the Tretyakov Gallery and sporadically at the Belarusian Art Museum in Minsk.
