In 1996, an exhibition of his work as well as that of many of his students was organized by many of his students and held at the G.C. Lucas Gallery in Indianapolis. As an artist, he emphasized respect for the Old Masters such as Michelangelo, Rubens, Vermeer and Velasquez.
