Dadaist and expressionist painter and writer, John Höxter was a student of Leo von König. He belonged to the art scene in Berlin, Germany, and was known for his portraits of actors and actresses as well as his poems. From 1911 on, he worked for the group "Action" and in 1919, he founded the Dada publication Blutiger Ernst which was soon taken over by George Grosz.
