During the First and Second World War Janesch worked as a war painter. In the 1950s he was commissioned to conceive a fresco for the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum in Vienna. Janesch worked mainly as a portrait and genre painter but also created several landscapes. Janesch died in 1973.(tfa)
