Awiki was born in Surabaya, on November 11, 1961. He is known as painter from Banyuwangi. Awiki studied painting under Bani Amora in Genteng, then continued his study at Fine Art School Yogyakarta. He also studied painting from Dullah in Pejeng Gallery and later joined Kamboja Gallery with 17 other painters. He used an impasto technique and an impressionistic style for his work. He also studied painting from Dullah in Pejeng Gallery and later joined Kamboja Gallery with 17 other painters. He used an impasto technique and an impressionistic style for his work. Awiki’s paintings of realism have special character in form, color, and composition with a “rembrandt lighting” approach. Due to his eye illness he was no longer using this style. Creatively he produced a painting method called “mata baur - combined eyes”. Since then he creates impressionist painting of thick paint texture. This kind of painting gained special...
