She was a Dutch painter and sculptor and, belonging to the group of figurative abstraction, is considered to be one of the most important Dutch sculptresses of the twentieth century. Already in her youth van Pallandt turned out to be very talented and was drawing, painting and playing the piano. For a woman to have a career as an artist in those days was not an obvious choice.
