Luis Masriera y Roses was born in 1872. She was born into a family of silversmiths in Barcelona; already his father and grandfather worked in the family business. His training at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Geneva allowed him to travel regularly to Paris, where he met the Art Nouveau and the work of René Lalique him. Luis Masriera y Roses was born in 1872. She was born into a family of silversmiths in Barcelona; already his father and grandfather worked in the family business. His training at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Geneva allowed him to travel regularly to Paris, where he met the Art Nouveau and the work of René Lalique him. In 1900 Masriera y Roses returned as an 18-year-old to Barcelona and took over the artistic direction of the family business. Radically he changed the style of jewelery design and produced with great success until the mid-1910s with pieces in the style of Modernism, the Catalan Art Nouveau. In his paintings, he used a style inspired by the Nabis and the French cloisonnism style of colorful colors.
