Steve Canaday grew up in Detroit but left the city 10 years ago and now lives and works in Echo Park, Los Angeles. He received a BFA from WSU and an MFA at UCLA but did his informal art training in the Cass Corridor, which became a neighbourhood incubator for painters, sculptors and musicians beginning in the late 1960s.
