    Adolf Wissel, born in 1894 in Velber, Germany, established himself as a genre painter specializing in rural subjects. He studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Hannover and the Academy in Kassel with C. Witte. Wissel's works, influenced by the New Objectivity style, are known for their clarity and expressive color composition. One of his notable works is the portrait of the Hanoverian painter Franz Müller-Dornhof, showcasing his skillful glazing technique. Another significant piece is the artist portrait of sculptor August Waterbeck, now housed in the Historical Museum in Hanover. Wissel's art was featured in the 1974 exhibition "New Objectivity in Hanover" at the Kunstverein Hannover.
