    Agapit Stevens (Brussels, 1848 - Watermael-Boitsfort, 1924) was a Belgian painter.

    Stevens mainly painted landscapes, cityscapes, genre paintings, portraits and elegant women. Courant are representations of oriental women in an exotic, harem-like decor or fashionable western women in a luxurious interior. The latter was also the trademark of Alfred Stevens.

    He was much less known than his namesake Alfred Stevens (1823-1906), the portrait and genre painter who mainly worked in Paris during La Belle Époque. Because Stevens signed his works with "A. Stevens" he is sometimes confused with Alfred Stevens.
