    Albert Haueisen, a son of an architect, began his studies at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Karlsruhe from 1887, which was followed by the Art Academy as a student of L. v. Kalckreuth (1855-1928), H. Thoma (1839-1924) and finally G. von Hackl (1843-1926) in Munich. He then traveled to Rome in 1894. He soon reached the status of a highly sought-after artist, who was appointed as a professor in 1919 and finally director of the Karlsruhe Academy of Arts. In 1933, however, he quit his duties because of the accusation of political influence. Works by Albert Haueisen are preserved, for instance, at the Museum Folkwang in Essen, the Landesmuseum Mainz and the Museum Georg Schäfer in Schweinfurt....
