About Albert Mohr

  • Biography

Albert Mohr was born in Paris, France in 1918. He studied at the Art Student League in New York for five years and worked as an illustrator but soon became aware of his love for painting. Albert painted serenity and happiness with the human figure as the dominant force. He was greatly influenced by Marc Chagall. Albert paints the impression of a scene without concentrating on its details. To Mohr, the facts of the subject are less important than his response to them. His brilliant colors do not suggest space so much as light.
