    Born in Dublin, Albert Victor Ormsby Wood attended the Metropolitan School of Art in Dublin in the 1920s. For several years he worked in the stained glass studios of Harry Clarke, but towards the end of that decade moved to London, married, and opened his own art school.

    He was badly wounded in the London Blitz, and in 1949 moved to Ansty, Sussex, where he lived as a recluse. He exhibited at the RA, RHA, and was included in the exhibition A Voyeur in Art at the Michael Parkin Gallery in 1992.
