    Aldo Chaparro arrived in Monterrey in 1991, accompanied by his friend Moico Yaker, who was invited to participate in the inaugural exhibition of the Museum of Contemporary Art. At that time, Monterrey began to promote its art market with the help of a small group of collectors and Aldo began to know that new Latin market well. Aldo's work was carved wood, a material that he had been using his last years of university studies. He made representations of objects influenced by Vanitas paintings, because the purpose of those works was to remember that everything in life was vanity.
