About Alex Cameron

  • Biography

    Alex Cameron is an established figure in the Toronto arts community. In 1967 he enrolled at the New School of Art where he studied under Graham Coughtry, Gordon Rayner, Dennis Burton and Robert Markle. He maintained a relationship with the famed art critic Clement Greenberg and was studio assistant to Jack Bush from 1972-1974. It was in the 1970s and 1980s that Cameron would cultivate his signature style described as "whimsical imaginative versions of the Canadian Wilderness."
