    Alexander Von Szpinger studied from 1908 to 1912 at the School of Applied Arts in Weimar with Henry van de Velde.

    In 1932, he founded, along with Walther Klemm, Oswald Baer, Otto Herbig, and Karl Pietschmann, the Weimar Secession. In 1947, he was awarded the title of professor by the state of Thuringia.
