    Alexander Hristov (1882 - 1953) was a distinguished Greek painter. He was born in Piraeus in 1882.

    Hristov studied at the School of Fine Arts and graduated with honors teachers N. Ransom and C. Roilos. He then went to Naples, where he attended the Institute of Fine Arts there. Upon his return until his death, he showed paintings in solo and group exhibitions. In 1925, he served as professor at the Technical Teachers' College of Further Education.

    His work mainly depicted scenes from everyday life of the people either in the countryside or in the city and the lives of Greek seamen in Piraeus. His paintings are in Germany. His style is strictly academic, with strong personal tone.
