    Alfred Laliberte was a sculptor, painter and educator (1). He was born in Sainte-Élizabeth-de-Warwick, Quebec, Canada (about 100 miles east of Montreal), and died in Montreal where he had lived most of his life (2).

    His sculpture mediums were bronze, marble, plaster, terra cotta*, wood and commemorative medals. His painting medium was oil. His subjects were portraits, historic figures, legends, French Canada, figures, nudes, rural life, genre*, allegory*, religion, and commissioned monuments. His style was Realism*.
