About Alfred Terlecki

  • Biography

    In the years 1906-1917 he studied under Leon Wyczólkowski and Józef Mehoffer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. In the period 1915-1919 he taught drawing in schools in Zakopane. He belonged to the Zacheta Group and to the Association of Polish Artists and Designers.

    He painted mainly decoratively stylized Tatra landscapes, including many from the surroundings of Morskie Oko and Hala Gasienicowa.

    He also painted views of Krakow, portraits and interiors. He dealt with woodcutting. The artist's works can be found, incl. at the National Museums of Warsaw and Kraków; but the largest team of them has the Tatra Museum in Zakopane....
