    Artist Alice Frey was born in 1895. After working with James Ensor in Ostend, Alice Frey took courses in drawing and painting at the Academy of Antwerp. She is co-founder of the groups "Light" and "I'll be fine." The varied and magical world of her harlequins, clowns and masks, made of light touches are found in most of her compositions. Her work is reminiscent of certain paintings of Ensor, hers turns sarcasm into a poetic, melancholy atmosphere. Under the influence of Paul Joostens, she also painted a few abstract works. The artist passed away in 1981.
