    Alois Carigiet was born in 1902 in Trun, in the Swiss canton of Grisons and already in his early years he designed stage sets and costumes for a cabaret. In 1939 he began working as a freelance artist and illustrated children's books such as the well-known Swiss picture book ‘Schellenursli’. Furthermore a multitude of wall paintings were created such as ‘Allegro Con Spirito’ from 1949-51.

    Carigiet's works were on display at several exhibitions, including 1948 in Solothurn, 1967 in Schaffhausen and 1977 at the Seedamm-Kulturzentrum Pfäffikon.
