Amelie Helga Lundahl (Finnish 1850-1914) was born May 26th, 1850 in Helsinki, Finland and studied drawing and painting at the Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm, Sweden. Showing an early talent for painting, Amelie received a grant to continue her Fine Art education in Paris at the Acadamie Julian under the auspices of Jean-Paul Laurens (French 1838-1921) one of the last Parisian instructors to teach the French Academic style.
