About Angus Fairhurst

    Born in 1966 in Penbury in Southern England, Fairhurst studied at Goldsmiths College in London, where he was part of a young group of emerging artists which included Damien Hirst, Gary Hume and Sarah Lucas.
    They first attracted the attention of the art world in the 1988 exhibition Freeze; though Fairhurst had a lower profile than some of his colleagues, his paintings, sculptures and installations were exhibited around the world.

    His work was included in the Apocalypse exhibition at the Royal Academy of London in 2000, and in 2004 he collaborated with Hirst and Lucas on the In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida at the Tate Britain.
