Aniket Khupse's sensitive lines and multiple layers constantly shuffle the viewer between various tenses - past, present and future. In his images, made up of people and situations, Khupse freezes his focal content in the present while the many layers, above and below, maintain a fluid representation between past and future. His colours are transparent and his lines meander carefully within his frame. While darker blotches of paint create a sense of depth, the more watered down pigments appear as sheer layers over the surface. Khupse's formal training in portraiture becomes evident in fine lines drawn with obvious conviction.
