    Anna Ticho, born in 1894, was an Israeli painter known for her landscape and animal paintings. Inspired by the light and contrasting landscapes of Jerusalem, her later homeland, Ticho's artistic work focused on capturing the beauty of the natural world. She bequeathed a significant portion of her artwork to the Jerusalem Museum, where many of her drawings and watercolors are now displayed. The floral still life depicted in the text likely originates from Ticho's later work.

    Anna Ticho, the painter, was born in Brno, Czechoslovakia in 1894. From 1906-1909 Ticho studied at the Art School in Vienna. She was awarded the Erest Prize for Painting and Sculpture in Jerusalem in 1964. Ticho also received the Sandberg Prize for Israeli Art from the Israel Museum, Jerusalem in 1975.
